Masja's new book has just hit the shelves, part four of her 'Wonderful World' series (you can read my reviews of the other books here: one two three). This book very much follows on from its predecessors in style and content, full of swirls, paisley and flowing shapes, this time with a flavour of India (her previous books were inspired by the seasons). There are a lot of animals in this one, including exotic birds, wild cats, mighty elephants and pinchy scorpions, alongside Masja's crisp mandalas and elegant floral ornamentation.
The paper is nice and thick, not allowing bleed or shadowing from waterbased pens. It's crisp, white, and has a good amount of tooth for those who practice pencil blending.
The line weight is quite delicate but defined, and has a beautiful curvature about it that makes me love Masja's mandalas despite not being a fan generally- hers just seem less geometrical and more flowing & design based.
The cover is very bright and really reflects the vivid colours of India. It certainly looks very stark when sat next to the first two books which were somewhat muted in their palette, but I like it!
This book is not available on Masja's Etsy page as yet, but you can buy it right now for a little over £10 including postage on her website. Here's my finished picture, coloured with Tombow pens.
And now for the giveaway! To win yourself a copy of the book, just enter via the Rafflecopter below. This is open WORLDWIDE and closes on 16.06.2016. Good luck!
