We are being treated recently! New books from Johanna and Millie, and now the next in the series from Good Wives and Warriors! Check out my reviews of their previous books, Escape to Wonderland, Escape to Christmas Past and Escape to Shakespeare's World.

Escape to Oz is obviously all about The Wizard of Oz, that equally wondrous and scary film we all remember from our childhoods. Escape to Oz brings the story to life in illustrative form, ready for you to fill the fantasy world with colour. Between the pages you will find Dorothy & Toto, the Tin Man, Cowardly Lion and brainless Scarecrow, Flying Monkeys, the Wicked Witch and of course, Oz himself. Not to mention all the beautiful scenery and other iconic creatures from the Emerald City and beyond. Take a look through the whole book in my video flipthrough below.
The book's format is identical to all other GWAW Puffin Classics books, with it's quaint 18 x 18cm size, gold foiling to the cover and brightly coloured, stiff card dust flaps. The paper is also exactly the same, with its thick cream coloured stock and double sided printing. Waterbased pens do not bleed through and will only shadow onto the reverse if you press down particularly hard.

Each page is packed full of detail to colour, with some small spaces and some larger areas. Nothing is what I would describle as too intricate, though- just busy. The illustrations are amazing just to look at, never mind colour, and as I always say with these books they would make an amazing keepsake for little ones in your family when fully coloured.

Each book from this series has its own colour scheme, and Escape to Oz is predictably a beautiful emerald green. Look how awesome the books look together.
