West Design Products are a huge UK manufacturer, distributor and importer of mainly stationery and craft items, who have recently added three colouring books to their vast repertoire of products.

Geometric Meditations

Geometric Meditations contains lots of symmetrical patterns and mandalas for those who love to colour digitally created shapes and ornamental motifs. There are also Henna illustrations and India-inspired designs. This is the perfect book to relax and chill the mind as you concentrate on filling the spaces and block out the stresses of the day.

Japanese Inspirations

As you can guess, this book features oriental designs and intrinsic Japanese iconography and culture. Within the pages you will find Geisha girls, dragons, beautifully styled fans, Lotus flowers, Koi carp and more. This book has a lot of repeat wallpaper style patterns, so is similar to the first book but with heavy Eastern flavour.

Natura

Natura is all about animals, wildlife and the natural world. The book includes a wide array of creatures, birds, mammals and insects, such as elephants, fish, birds and rabbits. There are lots of flower designs with flowing lines and Paisley style swirls. It's an ideal book to practice shading and blending on the petals, with so many species of plants and flora.
These books are designed with the colourist in mind, featuring spiral binding, thick one-sided paper and perforated edges for removal. The linework is a mixture of fine and bold, as are the colouring spaces- some very intricate, some with plenty of room for those who don't like too much detail.

Waterbased pens do not bleed through this paper or even shadow the other side. These books have produced made with care and attention to everything that makes a colouring book ideal for its owner, even down to the back cover- a thick cardboard so you don't need to find a surface to lean on whilst colouring. It also gives the book a sturdy feel.

Here are my finished pictures from each book.

Oh, definitely interested in the "Japanese Inspirations," hope we'll have that over here in the PH. :)
