Seeing as my blog has hit over 40,000 views, I figured it was time to get myself on YouTube! Subscribe to my channel and watch out for the coming video tutorials :) The first has already been uploaded, and shows you how to easily blend a background using pastels and cotton buds. If you enjoy it, don't forget to show me a thumbs up :)
Tips:
1. Colour everything else BEFORE using pastels. They should always be last as they smudge something terrible!
2. Use a fixative to 'set' the pastels. Cheap hairspray works great.

3. Apply the pastel in small circles. Applying in lines will not trick the brain into seeing a seamless blend, which is what messy circles achieves. Also, it gives a really cool cloud effect :)

The materials I used in this video are:

This looks like a really brilliant way of doing backgrounds.

I can't see what materials you used though?

Please can you let me know as I'd like to try this! :)

Hi Diana,
There are Amazon links at the bottom of the post for the materials I used, which were Inscribe Soft Pastels, and cotton buds :)
