I love colouring and I love food, so what a combination to find! This colouring/recipe book was created by a duet of Australian authors and Haylea Bridle, the illustrator. It's a colouring book with a twist, as it not only has sumptuous meals you can colour but also real-life recipes, with full colour examples of how the finished food will look. There's even a handy conversion chart for you baking colourists!

On the reverse of each page is an interesting tidbit of information, enlightening the colourist with facts about foodstuffs, culinary quotes from famous people and humorous cooking advice that feels very conversational and informal- like you have a cookery companion right there with you.
The book also contains a "How much of a foodie are you?" quiz, so you can test out your culinary knowledge whilst colouring! Each page is alphabetical, so for example G is for Gluten free, K is for Kale, V is for Veggie garden and so on. A lot of them are quite unusual; Quail eggs and Umami sitting in amongst the more common Toast and Nachos, providing a learning opportunities as well as colouring pages.

The art itself is very cartoonish and doesn't take itself seriously, but is still a high standard of illustration. It's a fun book that would suit most colourists as there is a variety of complex and simple pictures for whatever you feel like doing.

The paper is average quality which takes pencils as well as pens- watch out for the bleed through though, even when using waterbased markers.

Here's my finished page, coloured with Staedtler Triplus colour pens. I chose it as I have started getting into Instagram lately and posting pretty much everything on there!

Oh my goodness! This is the book for me! I love colouring and one of the reasons why is because it keeps my hands busy in the evening so I don't sit and eat all night. I also love cooking and baking so the incorporation of recipes in the book is just fab!
