Jessie Riley is a dreamer. But what does that mean? Well, she believes our dreams can make the world a better place with the power of vision, and taking positive action to make those dreams come true. She created a colouring book from the Earth's perspective, with the thought 'If the Earth could dream, what would it dream of?'. It manifested into a tale that shows the planet as a more evolved and advanced place, where water transforms into an elixir that heals and hydrates the thirsty, where old babbling brooks tell you the story of why you are here, and trees grow tall enough for children to climb up to the stars. It's an uplifting book of the perfect utopia where all life helps each other and works in harmony for a better world.
This book is ideal for children as well as adults, as it ignites the imagination whilst carrying a wonderful message of reconnecting with nature and living your life with love, wonder and respect for the world we live in. Oh, and every illustration was completed by a child between the ages of 4 and 11.
The images in this book are quite natural, organic and flowing, reminiscent of the pure flow of nature and the simple beauty you can find in everything around you. On the reverse of each page is a dream for you to think about whilst colouring the drawing that goes with it.
The book is definitely different to anything else out there, but I think if you believe in a better future for the planet and inspiring the next generation to change the world for the better, Dream of the New Earth is a wonderful tool for evoking conversation and contemplation either with others or within.
