There seems to be a Down Under theme on Colour with Claire these past few days, as I have another book from Australia to review for you! This time it's from the pen of artist & illustrator Hayley Atkinson, who's work is simply astounding. I've been looking at her Facebook page and I'm bowled over by her drawings. These two are my favourites:

Amazing, right? Having seen these, it's not surprising that the colouring book she has produced is filled with 15 lovely hand-drawn illustrations, mainly nature oriented.   My absolute favourite thing about it though is how Hayley has included a quote either famous artists or about art within each picture. They're all inspiring and make you think about the importance of creativity in your life. I think it's a lovely touch to each picture :) Speaking of pics, here's a look in the book itself...

This is the book that just keeps on giving, as it ticks two of the most asked after features in colouring books: spiral binding and thick paper. It's also one-sided, not that it would matter as the paper really is quality, almost card-like (190gsm for any paper connoisseurs out there). The book is a handy A5 size, so you can take it with you everywhere for a quick colouring fix. This is a book that could be used by your children too, as some of the drawings are quite whimsical and appealing to the younger eye.

I loved colouring the horse below, although I'm slightly disappointed with the finish- I used a brand of pens that I haven't tried before and I wasn't impressed (review soon!).
This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review. You can buy it on Hayley's Etsy page, and catch up with her on Facebook.

I just purchased by beautiful colouring book from Hayley. Her intricate drawings are just breathtaking. I love looking for the tiny printed quotes sprinkled through the pages. What's joy to try to do justice to some of these stunning drawings. And with two young children to look after Them
