Mandala Meditation by Lynette Rozine Prock

Today I am reviewing a very different kind of colouring book, one that urges you to connect spirtiually, to really think about your emotions as you colour. To not only fill in, but create something all your own. Mandala Meditation by Lynette Rozine Prock!

This is a book to give therapy and healing to the owner. It's so much more than blank designs on a page; it encourages you to contemplate your inner voice. It is a 115 page book with 18 different patterns, each having 5 steps for you to follow.

Step 1 is simply, Colour. Whilst you do this though, you are prompted to keep certain things in mind as you go- for example, ''You're a star, shining brightly in the sky for the entire universe to witness. Keep this feeling with you as you colour this page.''
I was certainly a new experience to colour this way, and it really did feel like I was psychologically connecting with what I was creating.

Steps 2 & 3 is firstly to trace the mandala, then fill in your own details, and then to create your own art on the faint outline you are given. With each step the design becomes less and less detailed, so that you can re-design it as you wish. It becomes transformative; from something rigid to something completely your own. As you can see, I'm not a brilliant artist (!) but I gave it my best shot.

Step 5 is a blank sheet of paper for you to start completely from scratch, creating an original mandala entirely of your own. All the time you are being gently guided by the suggestions at the bottom of each page. The instructions are not intrusive or demanding, just ideas to help you along the way.
It was quite novel having a colouring book that wasn't all about colouring, but more about creating something which was uniquely yours & stemmed from your own instincts. If you have turned to colouring as a means of mindfullness and self-awareness, this is most definitely the book for you. It was sent to me as a PDF copy so I cannot comment on the quality of paper used. Here are a few more designs from the book.

I absolutely need to get this book. I have two spiral bound books by Susanne F. Fincher that are very similar. Book 1 - Coloring Mandalas .. For Insight Healing and Srlf-Expression (42 designs) and Book 2 - (my favorite of the two) ..Coloring Mandalas .. For Balance, Harmony and Spiritual Well-Being (72 designs). If you have a drawing or contest for this Mandala book I'm in 😆

That was a fantastic post! I had no idea Mandalas & meditations are so prominent. These days, I've been studying and reading a lot about mandalas. I'm curious if any of you have any further resources to contribute. It appears to be difficult to discover the latest information on the website. I came across a couple of websites that are related. One of the websites is https://www.pranalink.com/blog/post/meditation-and-mandala/?utm_source=referrer&utm_medium=organic. The majority of the website does not update frequently enough to help me learn faster. Is there anyone eager to help?
