This is the beautiful sequel to 2015's My Magical Oasis by Plexus Books, and continues the series in much the same style and format as its predecessor. The 101 designs in this book are mainly floral based with loads of swirly leaves, petals and abstract flowing shapes. These aren't really my thing, so I was pleased to find it also contains plenty of intricately patterened animals, both realistic and mythical.

Inside the book you'll find unicorns and dragons among elephants and deer, so there's plenty of variety for those who love to colour the animal kingdom. Take a look through my slideshow below or watch my first YouTube 'look through & review' below. I've been thinking about doing video reviews for a while but I don't think I'm very good at it so I may stick to written for now!
The paper is exactly the same quality as the previous book- thick and smooth for use with waterbased markers and pencils without bleed through, which is good because the illustrations are not one sided. The binding is a tight glue which sometimes makes it difficult to lay flat and get right into the spine; something I'd certainly think about changing for the next book as the double page spreads can be impossible to fill in. There is a variety of complexity from large open spaces to tiny detail, but those spaces really are super small so make sure you're up for that before you dive in.

I'd have prefered more animals and realistic scenes  over the plethora of swirls and shapes, but overall its a gorgeous book that carries on in the same style as My Magical Oasis, so if you liked that one you'll definitely feel the same about My Mystical Wonderland :)

Here's my finished picture, coloured with Prismacolor pencils.
