It's one of the biggest books I have in my collection and certainly gives bang for its buck. From Aztec temples to graffiti-sprayed alleys, this awe-inspiring book features both real-life places and imaginary worlds, taking you through "sweeping cityscapes, panoramic mountains, underwater relams" and lots more. If you're looking for an all-encompassing book of iconic scenery and beautiful vistas, this is most definitely for you. It's already become one of my favourite books, so I'm really excited to show it to you today! The illustrations are an amalgamation of work by seven Canadian artists, all diverse and unique in their style, all having a part in creating vast hand-drawn worlds and nature snapshots for you to colour. The book was crowdfunded on Kickstarter, like a lot of the best books out there, reaching over $21,000 CAD in just over a month of going live! This is definitely not a book you want to miss, especially if you're into realism and landscape scenes like me. Physically, the book is made up of a hardy, flexible card cover which features glossy lettering and embellishments for a really professional feel. The paper quality is second to none; bright white, thick and smooth with a great tooth for pencils. Each illustration can be found as a thumbnail in the back of the book, showcasing its individual artist and of course the title of the piece. There's also a bio area which tells you all about the designers, as well as the link to a dedicated page on Facebook where you can show off your finished pages with other owners of the book. What else can I tell you? I think it's pretty clear I'm in love with this book! There's quantity as well as quality in equal measure, and I just think it's one of the most artistic, well-put-together colouring books around at the moment. This kind of standard comes at a price of course, especially to international buyers who have to pay shipping. Altogether with postage, a copy of this book will cost you just over £17 if you live in the UK, and almost $24 to mainland USA. Here's my finished picture, completed with Staedtler Triplus pens (no bleed). I'm planning on colouring the whole set of thumbnails as mini-artworks in the coming months, so keep a look out for that on my Facebook page! I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. You can find it on the Colorworth website here.
