Kids' Colouring Spotlight #1

I have lots of art sent in through the Facebook page and occasionally parents will post their children's work, some of which just blows me away! So I thought I'd start a section of the blog to spotlight some of these fantastic colourists-in-the-making and their finished pieces!

The first person to kick off Kids' Colouring Spotlight is Connnor Wilkinson from Leeds, UK. He's 11 years old and, like me, finds colouring really helpful with stressful days and times when he's feeling a bit anxious.

Here's Connor with his latest completed work!

I think it's fabulous and he's done an amazing job bringing Freddie to life. It clearly took a lot of effort and concentration to colour, so well done Connor! He used Marco Raffine pencils and a black berol broad felt tip pen for outlines and hair, and the picture took him 2 hours to complete from start to finish.

Here's a comment from Connor about the process:

Thank you to Connor and his Mum for allowing his work to be displayed on Colour with Claire. I hope you've enjoyed reading about it and if you have any little ones with impressive colouring to show me, just get in touch & they may be featured on the next Kids' Colouring Spotlight!

Amazing work by Connor there. I love the use of 2 mediums, pencils and felt tips too. I had no idea they would look so good together and have always avoided doing that!
