Colourists on Facebook groups often ask for ideas of what they can do with their finished coloured pages. This dilemma spawned Australian designer and colouring fan Claire Green to create something you can colour and actually use: playing cards! This fully colourable deck is currently halfway funded on Kickstarter, and has 9 days left to reach its $3,300 goal. Check out this video where Claire explains more:
The packs will include 54 cards made from thick 270gsm stock, all featuring a full colour glossy back for ease of shuffling and maximum durability for repeated handling. The face of the cards are suitable for any media from pencils to watercolour paint. Each card has been uniquely designed so as it's not monotonous to colour, incorporating mandala style with patterned detail.
I think this is a really novel idea to put your colouring skills to a fun and practical use, and I can't believe this hasn't been done before now to be honest! Everyone loves playing card games and Playing Color Cards will make a fab custom gift or stocking filler for friends & family this Christmas- either personally coloured by yourself or left blank for them to colour themselves.
Please consider supporting Claire's venture and grabbing yourself a few decks! They're really affordable at around £10 per pack ($17AUD / $13USD) and everyone who backs the Kickstarter for two decks or more also receives 8 colourable bookmarks (PDF) in the same playing card design.
