Queenie Law, an illustrator from Brooklyn New York, adores drawing cute & whimsical images- so what better way to share her art with everyone than a colouring book or two! Cute Sweets was her first and I Am Cute is the most recent. If you love the Japanese cartoon culture, Kawaii, Anime & Manga, you will love the adorable illustrations in these books.
I Am Cute features Queenie's little characters in lots of charming scenes including a tea party, doing the washing,  & hanging it out to dry, photo booth selfies, baking bread and more. My particular favourite is one creature deciding whether to sleep or eat- two of my favourite things (aside from colouring of course). Not all of them are action scenes; some pages have standalone characters for you to colour.

Cute Sweets is all about cupcakes, candy & ice cream! Everything has a face whether it's a donut, piece of toast or wobbly jelly, arranged delightfully to make your mouth water as you colour. Whether your favourites are gumballs, strawberry tarts or yummy frosting, this book features everything that any sweet toothed colourist desires. Just a shame it's only ink!
Both books are Amazon Createspace published, so they are made from average weight paper which can take most media as long as it's not too wet. The books are one-sided, giving you more freedom in what you can use to colour, eg. alcohol pens & paints. The reverse og each page is black with a white pattern, so you can't see any bleed from the front at all. Don't forget to put some scrap paper behind before you colour!

The covers have a soft touch matte finish which perfectly matches the fluffy furry characters inside! At the back of the books Queenie has helpfully included a Practice Page, with areas to swatch colours and test different pens & pencils. The line work in these books is medium weight and there is a variation of complexities from simple to detailed- but nothing too intricate.

Here are my finished pages from the books, coloured with Faber Castell Connector Pens.
