As my regular readers know by now, I love Hallowe'en and anything gothic or macabre, so I had high hopes for this simply titled Halloween Coloring Book. Unfortunately, it's not one me as I think is far more suited to the children's market. The illustrations are not hand-drawn but digital 'clip art' style images, some of which have been enlarged too much leaving jagged edges and pixelated lines.
Other images have incomplete border lines which cut off halfway, or have been oriented wrong meaning some of the design is missing. Some are small and centred, wasting a lot of space on the page. I'm not sure whether this is a printing error, a result of bad quality images or both; either way it's a real shame as the 3 Amazon reviews are positive so I was really looking forward to it.
As you can see the images are very basic with little intricacy or interest for the adult colourist. Children will enjoy the rudimentary pictures without a doubt, so if you're looking for a book for the kids this would be suitable.
Here's my finished picture, completed with Spectrum Noir markers.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. You can find it on Amazon here:
