Sometimes when colouring, I like to have all the decisions taken out of it and just colour. A lot of people do painting by numbers as it's all been thought out for you, so you can lose yourself in the meditative monotony of simply filling in the spaces. Colour Quest is a brand new book released on Amazon UK today, which contains 30 large format geometric designs of animals and patterns for you to bring to life, each with their own pre-selected colour palette.

The pages are made up of a bordered area of tiles- different shapes on each- which have a number that corresponds to the colour key on the left, just like painting by numbers but on a tiny, intricate scale!

As you can see, each page is filled with hundreds of tiles and will take quite a lot of time to complete. You can go through the book and choose a page to colour without checking at the back to see what it is like I did, or you can have a look through the images and select one you like beforehand. Here's a few examples of the finished images within the book.

The paper is fairly thick with no shadow or bleed from waterbased pens, and is one sided. Each page is perforated for easy removal and is quite large scale at 37cm long, so these would be perfect to frame and display once finished.

I love how you can pick a page and not know what it's going to be until it's almost finished! You can even mix it up and choose your own colours if you like. If you're a fan of Querkles or colour-by-numbers in general, you will love this well designed large format book jam packed with colouring hours and beautiful mosaic patterns :)

Here is my finished picture.
