Chameleon Color Cards

Chameleon Pens (see my review here) are ideal for those who don't have a clue where to start with blending, shading and mixing colours, as a single pen can create a range of tones simply by touching it to the blending solution for varying amounts of time. Chameleon have now created this set of Color Cards, to better help you understand and practice creating blends whilst considering light sources, to create realistic 3D effects.

​There are 4 packs to choose from: 
- Zen (Abstract, flowing patterns)
- Tattoo (Body art inspired designs)
- Flowers (including both petals and leaves)
- Nature (plants, animals & wildlife)

Each pack contains 16 black & white postcards for you to colour (2 of each design, so if you mess up on one there's a spare to start again) each one having its own tutorial card which tells you exactly how to colour them to incorporate shadows, highlights and light source. They also tell you exactly which Chameleon pens to use, or you can change it up and use your own palette. 

On the reverse of each card it shows you exactly where the light and shadows should be in monochrome. Some of the cards even link to online video tutorials that will walk you through it step by step!

As you know, Chameleon Pens are alcohol based so bleed through almost every type of paper, but these colouring cards are high-quality card which is incredibly thick and does not allow bleed through onto the next postcard. The reverse is blank but the pens do show through onto the reverse so you would have to cover it before writing on the back.

These cards are the ideal size to frame or mount onto greetings cards, so not only are they a useful practice tool for someone getting to grips with alcohol blending and shading, they're also useful for the crafter or cardmaker too :)
