Art Therapy magazine has been out in shops since earlier this year, featuring artist's colouring tips, insights into mindfulness and relaxation, and of course plenty of colouring patterns for you to complete. Each issue comes with a free gift of either pencils or markers, adding up to the full set of a whole spectrum of colours. The pencils are either artist quality normal, metallic, pastel or watercolour, and the markers feature either brush or fine tips for all types of images.

There are also several subscription gifts if you decide to sign up for the monthly bundle of 4 issues, including all this:

The magazine itself is priced at £2.99 per issue and is avaliable to buy in most supermarkets and newsagents. It is released weekly and is made up of several sections:

Colour with Confidence - advice on colour schemes, shading techniques, etc.

Sketchpad- mini images for you to practice on, cut-out lables etc.

Colour Me Happy - a feature page on one particular colour and its meanings/uses

Ten Minute Mindfulness - Calming advice on how to get the most out of your colouring time from a mindful perspective, plus meditiation exercises

Colour Me Calm - the main bulk of the magazine, featuring around 8 pages for you to colour including a colour-by-numbers page and an affirmation display page at the back. Each colouring sheet has space on the back for you to title your work and insert your name and the date.
The magazine is made from thick paper with glossy inserts on the feature pages, and lies flat for ease of colouring. The binding is a loose glue so that you can remove pages for display with little effort, and each issue is themed differently from flowers to fashion. Overall, it's a neat if not thin little magazine that offers useful tips to improve your talent as well as some lovely patterns to colour. The pencils I found were a little hard but still coloured fairly well, though blending was difficult. The waterbased markers give luscious colour and don't bleed through the page, making them a worthy addition to your colouring kit.
