Unibul Press is a new publishing company based in Austria that has just released its first adult colouring book, filled with Henna and Paisley patterns as well as intricate mandalas. Designed to help you forget your daily stresses and worries, the illustrations are very flowing and natural, with lots of curving lines and symmetry. The book contains a forward which explains the psychological reasons why colouring patterns regulates brain activity and control our attention, leaving us 'rested, relaxed and happy'.
Containing 29 detailed images in a mixture of line thicknesses, this book is ideal for anyone who likes colouring abstract, Zentangle® and doodled illustrations. The cover is black with a vividly coloured Paisley swirl across the front, and is made from soft-touch card for that luxurious feel.
Waterbased pens cause no bleed-through, but be careful with wetter mediums like gel pens unless you've placed scrap paper between pages.
If you're someone who practices meditiation and likes to lose themselves in their art rather than colour realistic images, the highly detailed designs in this book could serve as a tool to unwind and de-stress after a long day at work!
Here's my finished page, coloured with Triplus felt pens.
