What can I say about this book other than if you're a Geographer or general map fanatic this is your bible! It helps if you have an interest in the British Isles too, as this is purely for UK roads and areas- in fact it's made by the UK's biggest map and atlas publishers.
So, is it literally just page after page of monochrome maps? Well, yes and no. The majority of pages are of course just like the one on the cover, but there are a few more interesting additions like symmetrical mandalas made from streets, plain contour lines from mountainous areas like Ben Nevis, and even a page full of symbols that you would find in an map's key.
The paper is thick and allows no bleed from waterbased markers, coarse enough to take coloured pencils easily. The 40 single sided designs feature well-known and historical places such as Westminster, Bath and Cardiff, whilst also including lesser recognisable areas like Scafell Pike in the Lake District. All of the place names are written at the bottom for your reference and all pages are numbered.
I think it's a book that you'll either love or not be interested in at all, such is its quite specialist nature.
Here's my finished picture of SW19, better known as Wimbledon, home of Tennis.
