my mother, at 71y., started colouring and loves it, despite being extremely insecure about it at first.
I've bought her one of van den Berg's books which she delved into.
But some of the pages have instead of properly drawn patterns dotted lines. And my mom doesn't know what to do with that? is she meant to use a black marker and turn the dotted lines into full black lines, or ignore the dotted lines altogether? or use a marker and improvise her own patterns ( which she doesn't dare to try). She is so worried she might do it all wrong, whatever she does.

Hi, I would treat the lines as if they were solid. Tell her not to worry so much and just enjoy colouring & relaxing!
