Welcome to my latest competition in partnership with Wildergorn Colour-In Posters! (Click here to see my review of the huge and immensely detailed posters) For this competition Jamie Courtier, illustrator of the posters and creator of the Wildergorn universe, has chosen a small section from the Wildergorn Colour-In Poster 'The Airstones of Sool ' for you to colour & submit for the chance to win a full sized poster of your choice! Read on for more information on Sool and its inhabitants, and of course details on how to enter the competition! “In the South of Wildergorn the people of Sool extract the rod shaped crystals of Quixite from the natural honeycomb of tunnels in the mountains around them. Sought after for it’s vision-enhancing properties, Quixite is delivered throughout Wildergorn by the mysterious, gravity-defying creatures called Bobols who share the aerial city. Amongst the swaying Stalkhouses of Sool, the Bobols also carry the people and their goods to and fro, looking for all the world like balloons, and yet they say that if a Bobol is sitting on the ground it cannot be lifted, no matter how many people gather round. That’s why they are also known as Airstones. In Sool, every Stalkhouse has a Bobol Dome on top, which is where the Bobols stay at night, and each house has a water feeder and a full size Bobol Kiln in which to make Lava-smoke from powdered rock. That is all the Bobols require; smoke and water. They used to live in the wild, feeding from volcanoes and hot fissures in the ground but when people discovered how to make the same smoke irresistibly delicious by the inclusion of herbs and spices, the Bobols came eagerly to live with their human companions. To the touch they feel like warm stone , ancient, wise and safe, and they have their own language, their voices sound like soft, flutey horns except nobody knows what they're saying ... and they have a row of little beady black eyes encircling the tops of their heads, so nobody knows what they're looking at either. Everything they say…” The range of 8 giant 40 x 27" Wildergorn Colour-In Posters depict scenes from the strange and intriguing world of Wildergorn. The creatures and people, and the extraordinary places they inhabit, are so intricately detailed that you will be drawn gradually, almost hypnotically into a fascinating voyage of discovery.
