I love coming across books that don't take themselves too seriously, and Feito Criança is one of them. The book's title roughly says 'Like a Kid' or 'As a Kid', which in Portuguese translates to 'I am as happy as when I was a kid'. It's origins come from South America, all illustrated by Brazilian designer Fernanda Moraes.
It contains an assortment of differing themes, from geometrics and cubism to delicate paisley and Turkish tiles. There are lots of circles used throughout the book, making it seem more softer and relaxed than your usual sharp geometric designs. Each page is interesting on the eye and has something different to the next, whether it be owls and bugs or giant television sets! It feels quite retro and quirky, and not a book I think people would tire of easily. Have a look inside!
The book is square shaped, larger than Secret Garden at 26x26cm, and paper quality is fantasic with thick, smooth sheets. It contains 64 pages with a fully colourable inside cover and partially colourable outer. It feels well made with stitch binding that allows for fairly easy removal of the pages if desired, and has glossy text enhancements on the cover that give an overall feeling of quality.
You can buy it directly from Feito Crianca Facebook page, where it is currently priced at $12 including postage or a little over £8. Here is my finished picture!
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. You can buy it here.
